i had just come home from ontario where i was for three months.. at the time i was kinda getting bored with the guitar and started messing around on the piano. . I kinda had writters block and decided on morning that i was going to write a song on the guitar.. i just sat there and played and sang and basicall in one take i had "mrs j" written. Everyone asks me what this song means, or who it is about.. but to tell you the honest truth it just came out of me and means nothing.. the day before i wrote Mrs J it was raining.. so the first line in the song .."yesterday it was raining.." then it was overcast while i was writing it so the next line.. " ..now today it seems the same.." and from there i kinda just let the music take me away and i just continued to sing.
the funny thing about this song for me is that at the time of writting it i was fed up with the guitar and i was mostly playing the piano, but i did write the song on the guitar.. but when we went to the studio we did it on the piano and before entering the studio id never played it on the piano before. anyways, thats the story behind "mrs j"
yesterday it was raining
now today it seems the same. i can hardly see you crying anymore, and all your tears have been washed away.
And you dont even know my name, ohh and you barley even feel the same, ohh in the life and death of poor ol Mrs J
I can feel your heart its beating. I can see your life in dreads. I have never
been so lonely, you have never been so unimpressed with my old old stories.
And you dont even know my name, ohh and you barley even feel the same, ohh in the life and death of poor ol Mrs J
yesterday it was raining.
now today i feel the same
i can hardly see you crying anymore
and all your tears have been washed away
