live a little!

As you may or may not know music is a big part of my life. Not only do I love to perform and be on stage but I also love to be in the audience and experience other people’s music first hand. I was recently lucky enough to sit third row in the jack singer concert hall in Calgary to watch David Gray! Wow wow wow what an amazing experience. What an amazing voice, amazing band, and an amazing night! And now tomorrow I will be sitting eight rows back to see the one and only Tom Petty. However, as excited as I am, I am a little bit worried about people’s attitudes at concerts.
Live a little, have a drink, relax, be excited. Enjoy your night out and enjoy the music! After all that’s why you go to a concert in the first place isn’t it? I’ve seen it over and over again. Boy brings his girl friend to a concert. They try and get as close to the stage as they possibly can. Ten thousand other people try the same thing. Girlfriend gets pushed. Boyfriend gets angry. Throws elbows. Girl friend cries!!! Hello! What do you expect?! Everyone is so excited and everyone is trying to get up close that people are pushing other people by accident... its ok it’s all part of the experience. If you have a problem with that get a seat in the nose bleeds. You’ll probably have a better time. And truthfully you’ll sweat a lot less and your girl friend might actually reward you with some loving later that night.
Another thing, if you want to sing... SING! Who cares what you sound like! You love the music, you love the band… why not join in! Pretend you’re in the shower! I know when I’m on stage there is no greater feeling than watching other people singing along and having fun! So Get up and dance! Stand! Who the heck sits for a concert? Get up and feel the music, experience the music! Live a little, nobody is watching you anyways… they are watching the concert! And plus, Chances are its so loud that nobody can actually hear you anyways!
I could bitch for hours about how people just need to relax and enjoy themselves! But I’ve got better things to do today! For example: I’m going to go listen to some tom petty, get ready for my show tonight at doolins pub in Vancouver.. Then sleep, wake up and see the coolest man alive!! MR Tom Petty!
Have a great week everyone! See you next week!
