2 of my many guilty pleasures!

1) Coke-a-cola : when I was younger I could wake up and drink pop with breakfast. It didn’t matter if I was eating bacon and eggs or if I was just having a bowl of raison bran; what did matter was that I had my glass of pop. It seemed to go well with everything. Like most kids I had a sweet tooth so drinking a sugar glass of fizzy liquid seemed like a great way to start my day. Plus it helped give me that extra energy I needed to build forts, play with my toy cars, or build my Lego cities. However, as time has passed my taste buds have changed. I no longer have a sweet tooth and suddenly I find myself eating peppers, avocados and any of the other green foods I once hated. Four years ago I even cut pop out of my diet. Water has become the new drink of choice for me? Why, because it is delicious, and because it is free! That being said, I crave nothing more than a nice cold can of Coke-a-cola. If I see one in your fridge… watch out! I will grab it, and I will love the first three sips of it… then my teeth with feel rotten, I will get gassy (burps, not farts kids), and I will remember why I love water!
2) Swedish berries: I am not sure why they are called Swedish berries but I am certain that I want to marry a Swedish girl now because of them… oh my goodness! They are so delicious. By far the greatest candy ever made! Swedish berries are to me what lays potato chips are to Mark Messier. I BET YOU CAN’T JUST HAVE ONE! When I was a young boy I used to always have to run errands with my mother. I didn’t mind it because I love my mommy and also because often times she would get me a small treat. I remember one time she bought me orange tic-tacs. I had never had tic-tacs before but I do remember once I tried them I was confused as to why they were so minty and so damn small. I wanted candy not fresh breath. Now that I think about it maybe my mom didn’t treat me to those tic-tacs, perhaps she was trying to send me a message or drop me a hint? But one thing my mother did do is she opened up my eyes to the wonderful world of Swedish berries! In the basement level of the old Woodward’s in kamloops was this amazing bulk candy section. I’m not sure why my mom bought me Swedish fish of all the candies but I’m sure happy she did. Then for years they stopped making the Swedish fish until finally they introduced the Swedish berry. The berry is exactly the same as the fish except it only is one flavour and color. Bottom line, Swedish berries, Swedish fish, and Swedish people are top notch in my books!
